Travel freelancer Rashaad Jorden will be joining travel industry news site Skift as editorial assistant.
He will start May 24.
In this role, Jorden will assist editor-in-chief Tom Lowry with production and edit duties, including with newsletters, podcasts and social media. In addition, he will continue writing stories from time to time.
Jorden previously freelanced for Skift, writing stories on varied topics from racism’s impact on tourism in U.S. Chinatowns to global tour operators reviving their businesses with bookings from vaccinated seniors. Before that, he wrote for the Ethical Traveler and taught English in Japan as part of the Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching (AJET) program.
Jorden holds an undergraduate degree in English and media arts from Coppin State University, a 121-year-old HBCU in Baltimore, and a master’s degree in responsible tourism management from Leeds Beckett University in the UK.
He will be based in South Jersey.
