The website, overseen by former Houston Business Journal associate editor Natalie Harms, is covering innovation in startups, health, tech, energy, social impact, money and lifestyle.
“There’s so much happening in our innovation ecosystem that I’m not having any trouble finding news to cover,” said Harms.
InnovationMap has been in the works for months. Gow Media bought CultureMap about a year and a half ago. CEO David Gow grew his sports radio brand to include SportsMap before having the idea for InnovationMap earlier this year.
“I look at InnovationMap as both a news source and a resource about and for Houston innovators and entrepreneurs,” said Harms. “I’m really excited to shine a spotlight on this underexposed community.”
Harms said that writers for the site are freelancers.
