Vandana Sinha, who joined the Washington Business Journal newsroom in 2006 as a reporter, has been named its editor.

Michael Neibauer of the Business Journal writes, “Sinha, 42, takes over for Doug Fruehling, who was recently named editor-in-chief of the San Francisco Business Times, a sister paper of the WBJ. Both papers are owned by parent company American City Business Journals.

“‘Doug left us with an incredibly strong foundation, and I’m excited to build upon that,’ Sinha said. ‘Both this newsroom and this business community make the challenge worth it. Our mission will be to continue to find the most pressing local business news each day and track what will be a fascinating evolution for the region in the wake of Amazon’s HQ2.’

“Sinha started at the WBJ as a reporter covering biotech, health and energy before shifting to the editing desk, serving as assistant managing editor and then managing editor as of June 2016. She has won numerous awards for her Back Beat columns, headlines and in-depth editorial packages.”
