Andy Sharp, a reporter and editor for Bloomberg News in Asia for almost seven years, has left the news organization.
Sharp left for a senior role at a major Japanese news organization.
He joined Bloomberg in October 2011 covering the birth of Abenomics in the aftermath of the financial crisis and Japan’s massive tsunami and Fukushima meltdown. He then worked as a politics editor, with his main focus on Japan and the Koreas, notably the North Korean crisis.
He previously worked as a copy editor for Nikkei and as a translator.
Sharp holds a degree from Sheffield Hallam University.
