The San Francisco Chronicle announced Wednesday that it would launch this Sunday an expanded business news section with the help of Bloomberg News called Business Report.
Business Report will be comprised of regional stories and data produced by the business staffs of The Chronicle and Bloomberg. The collaboration will include content sharing on SFGate.com and the Bloomberg.com Web sites.
Bloomberg’s 50-person San Francisco news bureau will coordinate daily with The Chronicle’s news staff to produce the daily business section.
“This new section takes advantage of the strengths of both Bloomberg and The Chronicle business staffs to create a one-of-a-kind newspaper business section,” said Ward Bushee, Chronicle editor, in a statement.
Pages will be added to The Chronicle business section for the expanded report in daily and Sunday editions. The section will feature The Bloomberg Market Report — an exclusive and unique data listings on economic trends for the Bay Area, nation and world.
“Readers throughout the Bay Area can only benefit and profit from the combination of The Chronicle’s exceptional news judgment and the global reporting perspective Bloomberg brings to each and every story,” said Matthew Winkler, editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News, in a statement.
