Yolanda Martinez, an associate graphics reporter at The Wall Street Journal, has been hired by the San Francisco Chronicle.
She will be a newsroom developer with a focus on making tools and interactives for Hearst newspapers. Her last day at the Journal is Friday.
Martinez has been at The Journal since January 2019 on the markets team. She previously spent two years at The Marshall Project as a producer pitching, reporting, coding and designing data-driven stories and graphics on the criminal justice system.
She also was a digital producer at the Pew Research Center. She holds a master’s degree in multimedia journalism from Cal-Berkeley.
