SF Chronicle hires Li to cover real estate

Roland Li

The San Francisco Chronicle has hired San Francisco Business Times reporter Roland Li to cover real estate and business.

At the Business Times, Li covered real estate and economic development since January 2015.

Li is also the author of “Good Luck Have Fun: The Rise of eSports” from Skyhorse Publishing about the growth of the competitive gaming industry.

Li’s work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, New York Observer, and Interview magazine. He worked full time for Real Estate Weekly and the International Business Times.

He was born in Beijing in 1988. After briefly being pre-med, he studied journalism and history at New York University and spent eight years in New York before moving to the West Coast in 2015.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
