Senior editor leaving BusinessWeek

Keith Kelly of The New York Post reports Wednesday that BusinessWeek senior editor Michael France, who oversees the corporation section, is leaving to join Brunswick Group as a partner. He leaves on April 18

Kelly writes that the magazine has also received 1,000 angry letters from subscribers about its redesign last year.

He writes, “One source said that over 1,000 angry letters and e-mails have piled into the BW offices and that [editor Stephen] Adler is trying to keep them from the staff.

“Adler acknowledge that he has gotten strongly worded feedback, but said the design has continued to evolve.

“For instance, he increased the size of the typeface, changed the Opinions section in the back and decreased the number of pages that run the BusinessWeek summary. All were a response to complaints voiced by readers.”
