Starting this week, Talking Biz News would like to post PDF files of the covers of weekly business newspapers, daily business sections, and business magazines so that others in the business can see them and learn what others are doing across the country.
The idea comes from Philadelphia Inquirer business editor Tony Gnoffo, who says he sees the business fronts of the Washington Post and the New York Times on a daily basis, but rarely if ever gets to see other papers.
“I’d love to see what peers are doing in Dallas, Chicago, Boston, etc are doing, too,” says Gnoffo.
So, here is my request. Send me a jpeg file of your business publication. I’m particularly looking for well-designed or unique fronts that show your publication’s smart coverage. E-mail them to croush@email.unc.edu. Also, please send a paragraph or two explaining the front.
The idea is that the more that people in business journalism share, the better the overall quality of business journalism becomes.
