Seeking Alpha is starting a newest podcast channel “Alpha Trader” that will feature longtime business journalist Aaron Task as one of its hosts.
The show will start on Oct. 15 and be published every Tuesday.
“Alpha Trader” will dive into market news and set the stage for upcoming market events. The show will also include discussions with market experts on topics relevant to active traders.
“I’m psyched to get back into podcasting, a medium I really love, and excited to help investors navigate the market at this very interesting juncture,” said Task in an email. “Because this is a weekly show, we’re going to be able to step back a little bit from the daily drama and provide listeners insight into the big picture of what’s ‘really’ going on…and what’s coming up.”
George Moriarty, the editor in chief and vice president of content, stated, “Podcasts match Seeking Alpha’s content goals exceptionally well, allowing us to provide our readers (and listeners) with multiple viewpoints that can inform their investment decisions. Alpha Trader is our eighth podcast in market, and our second with multiple hosts, which we think gives it a unique ability to take a high-level view on what’s driving the markets.”
Task was editor in chief of Fortune.com. He joined Fortune after time at Yahoo Finance, where he was editor in chief. During his time at Fortune, he pushed the web operation to a 30 percent increase in organic traffic vs. 2015 and a 160 percent increase in video starts.
Before joining Yahoo in 2008, he spent 10 years at TheStreet.com in a variety of roles, including executive editor. He also served as the on-camera host for Yahoo’s video efforts.
He is the winner of a number of journalism awards and contributing editor, with Barry Ritholtz, of the 2008 book “Bailout Nation.”
