Seattle Times real estate reporter Katherine Long is moving to a new beat — covering Amazon.com.
She also covered the Port of Seattle.
“It’s bittersweet to move off the real estate beat. But plenty of Amazon news *is* real estate news, especially around Seattle,” she wrote on Twitter.
She was a researcher for Vox Media prior to joining the Times in 2019. Long was also an editorial intern at The Stranger.
Long has reported from Central Asia, Turkey and Cyprus, among other countries. She has also garnered awards such as a Fulbright Research Award, and she was a Marshall Scholarship finalist, as well. Long graduated from Brown University in 2015, where she was a senior staff writer for Brown Daily Herald.
Long also graduated from the Columbia Journalism School’s investigative specialization in 2019.
