Rob Smith, the editor of Seattle Business magazine, has been promoted to editorial director of its parent company’s Seattle office, which means he now oversees Seattle Magazine, its city magazine, as well as Seattle Business.
Smith will be working closely on initiatives related to the community profile and digital presence of Seattle Magazine as well as remaining as editor in chief of Seattle Business.
He won’t be involved in day-to-day activities of Seattle Magazine, but will work closely with the editor on strategic initiatives to move the magazine forward.
The new executive editor of Seattle Magazine is Chelsea Lin, who had been the food and drink editor. She replaces Virginia Smyth, who recently left for a PR position.
Smith has been editor in chief of Seattle Business since November 2018. He previously was editor in chief of the Portland Business Journal and the Puget Sound Business Journal.
