Gordon Prouty, advertising director of the San Francisco Business Times, has been named publisher of the Puget Sound Business Journal, the weekly business newspaper in Seattle.
“‘I know Gordy will do great things in Seattle,’ said ACBJ President Whitney Shaw. “This is a very important market to us that has a tradition of success. Emory and his predecessor as publisher, Mike Flynn, set the bar high.’
“Prouty is a veteran advertising sales executive with experience in classified sales, national and major accounts and business development. He started his career at Newhouse-owned Syracuse Newspapers, now the Syracuse Post-Standard. While in Syracuse, he was also an adjunct professor in media and retail advertising at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
“Prior to joining the Business Times, a sister publication of the Puget Sound Business Journal, he held executive positions with publishers in Philadelphia and San Francisco.”
