Seattle biz journal hires Campbell as retail, health care reporter

Megan Campbell

Megan Campbell has been hired by the Puget Sound Business Journal as its health care and retail reporter.

Campbell, an Oregon State University alumnus, writes, “I quickly moved up in the ranks, taking on the role of editor in chief for the summer and then the managing and news editor role the following year. I curated an award-winning news team and delivered an award-winning product to nearly 30,000 students.

“I was awarded the Charles Snowden Program for Excellence in Journalism internship in 2014, the summer after I graduated with a bachelor’s in new media communications – the closest degree to journalism I could find at the primarily engineering university.

“I moved to the Seattle area right after that and began my career at Sound Publishing in 2015. My first beat as a general assignment reporter was the city of Sammamish, a rapidly growing, affluent suburb east of Seattle which now more than 60,000 people call home. I covered everything and anything related to the city, and I won awards for my government, education and feature reporting.

“As journalists do, I wore many hats while at Sound. Most recently, I was a copy editor and designer at The Daily Herald in Everett.”
