Schnaidt hired as Fast Company creative director

Michael Schnaidt

Mike Schnaidt was hired as creative director of Fast Company.

 
Before coming to Fast Company, Schnaidt was the creative director at Men’s Health and menshealth.com, where he received two industry awards: Advertising Age’s “Magazine Of The Year” and Folio’s Integrated Marketing Campaign Award.
 
Previous to that position, Schnaidt held the position of deputy design director at Popular Science and popsci.com, where he also received two industry awards: Folio Website Relaunch Awards and Media Industry Newsletter’s Single Magazine Issue Award.
 
Schnaidt spent four earlier years as Men’s Heath senior art director, where he was part of the team that won the American Society of Magazine Editors General Excellence Award in 2015.
 
Schnaidt is also the recipient of Gold, Silver, and Merit Awards from the Society of Publication Designers for his work with Men’s Health, Esquire, and Entertainment Weekly.
 
“Fast Company has a strong and enduring love of design, reflected in our legacy of awards and accolades,” said editor in chief Stephanie Mehta in a statement. “A creative thinker of Mike’s caliber will contribute tremendously to our journalism and storytelling.”

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
