Toni Fitzgerald of Media Life writes about how the NASDAQ posted a seven-story tall photo of Nightly Business Report anchor Paul Kangas recently as a way to say goodbye to the retiring business journalist.
“‘Paul was blown away by it,’ says Stuart Zuckerman, vice president of sales and marketing for the show. ‘He was called into the newsroom in Miami supposedly for a meeting, and there was a large-screen TV that carried a live feed of the image. We also aired a clip of it on that night’s program.’
“The likeness is striking, except for the black spaces on his face, which are windows in the tower.
“Wishing an outgoing employee a fond farewell isn’t generally noteworthy; this is because of the large scale of the goodbye and because of who was receiving the recognition.”

Nightly business report will NEVER be the same without Mr. Paul. I have watched him for many years. I surely miss him, but everyone deserves to retire. MISS YA< PAUL.
Very few people can be considered THE BEST at what they do. Paul Kangas is one such person. He was the reason I got hooked on The Nightly Business Report in the early 80s. I will miss him on NBR but sincerely hope his retirement is enjoyable. Well done!!
I'm way late with this on March 9th but I've watched Paul Kangas for years! He has always epitomized the NBR to me and I will sorely miss him. He was always sharp and crisp and on point. I especially liked his candor with his guests and their stock picks - he never pulled any punches but no one could ever get mad with him. All the best Paul!
Thirty one years ago I watched you religiously and made good a profit over the years by listening to your honest reporting and good advise. You were always a pleasure to listen to. An infrequent substitute was always a disappointment. If I had your voice and one half of your intelligence, I, like most of us, would be so much wealthier. I have always thought of you as a friend. May you have joy and good health in your retirement. RL
Still missing your daily reports on NBR. Investing is just not the same anymore without your input each weekday. And the off-day reports were even MORE informative.

When I had cable and Paul was reporting on ONE I was always cooking supper and the smell of good cooking along with listening to Paul was so relaxing and felt like home.I miss that ever so much!God bless you, Paul.
