Harold Bubil of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune posted the following on Facebook:
I have retired after 43 years with the Herald-Tribune, the past 23 as real estate editor. Actually, semi-retired, as I will continue to do write feature stories, my Letter From Home column and the Florida Buildings I Love series.
It has been my great pleasure and privilege to serve our readers in this role. I am grateful to the many homeowners, architects, builders, Realtors and other sources who have contributed so much to my work.
Architecture will remain a main topic for me, along with occasional pieces on green building, Universal Design, property risk mitigation and related building topics. Also, I plan to continue producing such events as ArchiFest in partnership with the Herald-Tribune.
On my own, I am doing public speaking and tours for civic groups, as well as private tours of Sarasota architecture and real estate. I charge a fee for these.
Chris Wille, a true professional journalist, formerly of the Bradenton Herald, is the new real estate editor; he started just in time to help cover Hurricane Irma. I am confident he will do a great job and I wish him all the best.
