Associated publisher Reo Carr has been named editor of the San Diego Business Journal, according to a story on the paper’s site.
The story states, “Tom York, who’s been editor since May 2006, will assume the title of contributing editor, working with Carr on special projects and writing assignments and continuing to write his popular SDBJ Insider column. He also assumes his new duties Oct. 19.
“Carr will set the overall direction of the editorial department, and work directly with the editors, reporters and researchers on a day-to-day basis.
“‘I am excited to be accepting this new challenge in a world I know so well,’ said Carr. ‘Our mission of giving readers access to fast-moving events in terms of business and economic news has never been more critical.’
“Carr brings a long and distinguished history to his new position, added Mills.
“Previously, Carr was editor-in-chief of The Daily Transcript, a daily newspaper in San Diego, and also served as editor of a weekly business journal in Fresno. He also worked in the business world for a number of years before venturing into business journalism, so he has firsthand experience with the inner dynamics of running a business.”
