Craig Thomason has been named the new business editor at the San Antonio Express-News, effectively immediately.
In a story scheduled to run in the Express-News on Sunday, provided to Talking Biz News by Thomason, managing editor Brett Thacker states, “Craig has been around long enough to understand better than most how this city ticks. That depth of knowledge, combined with his editing and leadership skills, will enrich our Business section.”
Thomason joined the Express-News as an assistant city editor in 1985 after holding down various editing and reporting posts at the Killeen Daily Herald for 12 years.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Thomason was named city editor, one of the newspaper’s key positions, in 1989. He was promoted to assistant managing editor/news in 2006.
In addition to the Business section, Thomason is responsible for Drive, Jobs, Real Estate and Business Express, a Saturday publication.
