Sacramento biz paper hires new real estate reporter

Sanford “Sandy” Nax has bee named the new commercial real estate and construction reporter at the Sacramento Business Journal, replacing Michael Shaw.

His colleagues — especially our retail reporter, Kelly Johnson — have been covering real estate stories since then and are especially happy to see the job filled.

“Sandy is a veteran business journalist with long experience on the real estate beat and deep understanding of the industry. He worked as a business reporter at The Fresno Bee from 1988 to 2010 before taking a break from journalism to work for the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization.

“A graduate of California State Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo, Sandy also has worked for the Desert Sun in Palm Springs and the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

“Sandy and I worked together in Fresno, where I was managing editor before joining the Business Journal early last year.”
