The Society of American Business Editors and Writers will hold a conference call later this month for business journalists on writing stories for the Internet.
The call, which will be held Sept. 23, at 3 p.m. EST, will discuss how to present stories more effectively online and alternative story formats.
Other topics will include the common mistakes with online journalism, what journalists can do to make their stories more interactive, and what journalists can learn from video games and iPhone applications.
The panelists will include Claudette Artwick, a Washington & Lee University journalism professor who is the author of “Reporting and Producing for Digital Media,” and David Morrow, the former editor in chief of TheStreet.com who is now a journalism professor at the University of Nevada at Reno.
The moderator will be Jan Schaffer, the executive director of J-Lab: The Institute for Interactive Journalism.
To participate in the call, send an e-mail with “Yes” in the subject line to sabew@missouri.edu. Instructions on how to participate and ask questions will be sent to you next week.
