The Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing is now accepting entries for the Larry Birger Young Business Journalist Award, which honors the top business journalist under the age of 30.

The fifth annual awards contest can be entered here. The winner will receive $1,500 plus an expense-paid trip to SABEW’s next conference where the award will be presented.

Journalists 29 years old and younger during 2017 are eligible. (A journalist who turned 30 during 2017 is eligible).

The Birger Award is named after Birger, the former Miami Herald business editor who served as SABEW president in 1977. Birger was later a partner in rbb Communications of Miami until his death in 1998. The award is made possible by a gift from rbb Communications.

Jillian Berman, 28, a New York-based reporter for MarketWatch, was the 2017 winner of the Birger Award.
