SABEW names Antonelli to its board

Cesca Antonelli

Cesca Antonelli, editor-in-chief of Bloomberg BNA, has been appointed to the board of governors of the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing.

Antonelli will serve out the board term occupied by Sho Chandra of Bloomberg. Chandra passed away last month unexpectedly. SABEW will be honoring her at its Spring Conference, May 16-18 in Phoenix.

Antonelli spent 19 years with Bloomberg News as a reporter and editor in five bureaus, and ran teams around the world. At Bloomberg News, Antonelli helped build the company news coverage in the Americas and throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She was Washington bureau chief and managed the company’s global “front page,” Top Worldwide.

“I’m honored to be filling the remainder of Sho Chandra’s term on the board of SABEW, an organization I’ve long admired. I hope that I can carry on her contributions and enthusiasm in the year ahead, and I look forward to the opportunity to help the great work being done by SABEW on behalf of business journalists around the globe,” said Antonelli in a statement.

“We’re grateful that Cesca is willing to dedicate her time and talent to SABEW service, given her strong track record as both a reporter and a leader. Because Bloomberg News and Bloomberg BNA have been a remarkably strong SABEW supporter over many years, Cesca’s work takes on added importance,” said Mark Hamrick, SABEW president and Bankrate.com Washington bureau chief and senior economic analyst, in a statement.

Antonelli was named editor-in-chief of Bloomberg BNA in 2018. She most recently served as a senior executive editor at Bloomberg News, where she was responsible for data visualization, graphics and visual media.
