SABEW hires Ernst as program and content director

Tobin Ernst

Tobin Ernst has been hired by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing as its program and content director.

He will focus on SABEW’s training programs, events, partnerships and communications for business journalists.

Ernst has been working alongside journalists for more than 20 years in various PR roles. He has successfully developed and executed internal communications and media relations programs for three professional hockey teams as well as multiple nonprofit, education, healthcare, real estate and technology clients.

He’s also represented multiple sponsors at SABEW conferences.

Ernst received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Business Marketing at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

He resides in Phoenix and works out of SABEW’s ASU office.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
