The three-day conference is themed “The Future of Work: The Changing Global Workforce and how it’s Reshaping Business.”
The conference will feature the following speakers:
Conference sessions boast a range of future work topics, including the pandemic’s impact on small businesses, the travel and hospitality industry, and commerce. The conference will also look at income inequality issues, workplace diversity and promoting more women into management positions.
“These past 18 months have profoundly changed the way we work and our expectations for how we will work in the future,” said Caleb Silver, SABEW president and editor in chief of Investopedia, in a statement. “We have gathered some of the most influential executives, policy makers and journalists at our three-day virtual conference. The #SABEWOct2021 conference will explore these changes, help paint a better picture of how companies and industries will change over the next decade, and how we will cover that transition as journalists.”
Industry leaders and economists will dive deep into the economic outlook with insights on the changing global workforce and how it’s reshaping business. Key discussions will include did women really drop out of the workforce during the pandemic; the rapidly evolving demands of the modern corporation, and how hiring and training need to keep up; what large, small and MWBE businesses should be doing right now to mitigate the effects of the virus, protect their workers’ health and their own bottom line; and how employees are revolutionizing the benefits landscape through more options that resolve a better work-life balance.
Business journalists will explore new thinking, programs, and strategies for story framing and source selection for news coverage. Additionally, hear from female leaders thriving in the journalism profession, how they are rising in the ranks and overcoming challenges within the newsroom. Networking opportunities for business journalists and students will also be available.
Registration rates are $129 for SABEW members, $159 for non-members, and $49 for students. Register at https://sabew.org/2021/09/fall-conference-2021/. Schedule can be viewed at: www.conftrac.com/SABEW21.
