João-Pierre S. Ruth, the former New York editor for tech news site Xconomy, has been hired by Information Week as a senior writer.
Ruth had been working for Blueshift Research since October 2017. He has also been freelancing for New Jersey Business magazine, Street Fight, DealFlow Media and Investopedia.
He had been with Xconomy since June 2011 and the editor of its New York site from March 2013 to October 2016.
Before Xconomy, Ruth worked for more than 13 years at NJBiz, covering stories on media, technology, telecommunications, marketing and retail throughout New Jersey. While there, he won a Society of Professional Journalists New Jersey chapter first place award for business reporting in 2001.
Ruth is a Rutgers University graduate.
