Eli Rosenberg
Washington Post business editor David Cho, deputy business editor Zachary Goldfarb and economics editor Damian Paletta sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:
We are thrilled to announce that Eli Rosenberg is joining the Business desk to cover workers and the economy.
In his new role, Eli will write about how economic social forces, as well as the decisions of businesses and policymakers, are shaping the lives of workers.
As a reporter on the General Assignment team since 2017, Eli has distinguished himself by finding unique stories that have made him one of the most-read writers in the room.
He has anchored major breaking news, including the recent tragic boat fire near Santa Barbara. And he regularly produces creative enterprise, such as his pieces on a fake listing that gamed TripAdvisor to become the highest rated restaurant in London, an anti-fascist rebellion in the world of professional soccer and Sean Parker’s expensive apology to the state of California for his opulent but unpermitted wedding. He marked the Big Lebowski’s 20th anniversary by interviewing critics who had panned it.
Eli came to The Post after working as a reporter on the metro desk of The New York Times. Before that, he covered policing and the borough of Queens for the New York Daily News.
Eli has a bachelor’s degree in English and Latin American studies from UCLA. Raised in California, he started writing profiles of people at the age of 13 for school projects.
When he’s not reporting, you can find him running in Rock Creek Park, cooking or trying to blend the perfect hot sauce. Eli lives in the District with his wife, Kelsey. He will start his new role Sept. 16.
