Rocky Mountain News starts new business blogs

The Rocky Mountain News has started two new business blogs — one from real estate editor John Rebchook and another from finance editor David Milstead.

Rebchook’s blog is based on insights from spending 24 years covering Denver’s residential and commercial real estate market.  A blog posting today focuses on living near the Denver airport.

Milstead’s blog focuses on “hidden stories from the world of finance.” He wrote, “There probably won’t be as much drama here at Material Disclosures. But I intend it for the serious user of Colorado business news. I think the term for it is ‘inside baseball,’ the dismissive phrase people use about political or business news that’s just a little too hardcore for the average reader. But you’re not the average reader. You want the extra. You want the bonus features.”

A posting last week on Milstead’s blog takes a look at backdating stock options at a Colorado company.

News business editor Rob Reuteman is also expected to start a business blog soon.

  • David: I look forward to reading your blog on a regular basis. I'm interested in reading your pearls of wisdom--especially as big stories develop, such as the Nacchio trial. I'm curious as to the interest you have had so far and how this will serve you and the paper. It's something we have toyed with starting.
