Rochester paper makes changes to biz news coverage

Karen Magnuson, the editor of the Democrat & Chronicle in Rochester, New York, writes about changes to the paper’s business news coverage.

For the daily coverage, Magnuson writes:

Local business news, including the local stock chart, will appear with other kinds of news instead of being on a separate page. The best stories will be displayed on the front page, of course, and national business news will continue to be featured on its own Money page in the USA TODAY section.

For the weekend coverage, Magnuson writes:

On Sunday, we’ll publish a more robust local business section that goes well beyond the usual topics of innovation and entrepreneurship.  D&C Business will provide comprehensive coverage of our economy, largest employers and trends in important areas such as retail and real estate.
