David Larter, who currently works for the Air Force Times, has been hired to be a business reporter for RichmondBizSense.com, the online business news site covering Virginia business news.

He replaces Al Harris, a graduate of the VCU School of Mass Communications, who covered retail, commercial real estate, banking and small business and moved to Philadelphia.

Larter will work for RichmondBizSense.com founder and editor Aaron Kremer.

In an e-mail, Larter said, “Aaron is a great journalist and a great person. He was the first editor to see through my many shortcomings and find potential. I jumped at the chance to come back and work for him.”

Larter was born in Inverness, Scotland, and was raised in the Philadelphia area. After graduating high school he joined the Navy, serving four years before leaving to pursue education. He graduated in May 2010 from University of Richmond with a degree in English. He was a writer for Richmond BizSense from May to December 2009 when he was hired as deputy news editor for Army Times.

Larter is currently a staff writer for Air Force Times where he covers military personnel and enlisted leadership. His work has appeared in Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, Defense News and Federal Times.
