Reynolds Center seeks managing editor

The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism is looking for a new managing editor for its Web site, www.businessjournalism.org.

Anita Malik, who previously held this job, has left the Reynolds Center to run a magazine.

The managing editor will be responsible for leading and managing editorial staff and freelance writers and driving the direction and presentation of content on the site. The ME will coordinate content for regional workshops, online seminars, online tutorials and video conferences. The ME also will coordinate the center’s marketing and advertising campaigns, including design and ad buys.
 
Responsibilities of the job include writing original articles for the Web site, tracking business news and trends and editing Web copy, traveling to workshops to represent the Reynolds Center and developing new Web-based programs.

The ideal candidate will be a highly driven idea generator with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with diverse populations. Knowledge of Web-marketing techniques, including search engine optimization to increase traffic, will also be a plus.
