Reuters announced Tuesday the formation of the Reuters Editorial Advisory Board, a panel of 22 people who have been assembled to share with Reuters their insight into the sectors of finance, technology, media, law, government, tax and other areas of interest to Reuters customers world-wide.
The board held its first meeting on Tuesday.
“I’m excited about the possibilities that can come out of conversations with such a wide-ranging and esteemed group of global thought leaders,” editor in chief Stephen Adler said in a statement. “It’s never been more important for us to hear from different parts of the world, different sectors of our businesses, and the different communities that are influencing our businesses and lives. Our hope is that it will enable all of us to make smarter choices in our coverage of news and trends to serve our users better.”
Among the members of the advisory board are Huffington Post co-founder Ken Lerer; John Lloyd, who is director of Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford; Hu Shuli, editor in chief of Caixin Media in China; and Paul Steiger, CEO of ProPublica and former Wall Street Journal managing editor.
Former Harvard University president and Treasury secretary Larry Summers is also on the board.
