Reuters reporter Wise is leaving

Alana Wise

Alana Wise, an airlines reporter at Reuters, is leaving the news organization.

Wise is joining WAMU 88.5 in Washington as a reporter on the guns and America team.

She has been at Reuters since June 2015 and originally covered the 2016 presidential election. Wise also worked on the retail and restaurants beat for Reuters. She also reported from Charleston and San Bernardino in the aftermath of deadly mass shootings in those cities.

Wise holds a degree from Howard University in political science and journalism. She interned for Fox News and for NBC 4 in Washington.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
