Longtime Reuters journalist John L. Whitesides is retiring.
He will leave the news service at the end of the month.
Whitesides joined Reuters in Hong Kong in 1990 on the Asia desk after 10 years in newspapers at the Omaha World-Herald and Hartford Courant. He also worked briefly for a newspaper in Hong Kong.
He later moved to Washington with Reuters as an editor and was then a correspondent covering Congress, politics and national affairs. He covered everything from the Clinton impeachment to Obamacare.
Whitesides is a University of Kansas graduate.
