Reuters announced Wednesday a new management structure for multimedia under the leadership of Chris Cramer, global editor, multimedia, effective immediately.
With the new structure, Cramer will oversee five editorial groups, including television, pictures, Reuters financial video service, online and agency. All groups will be led by senior editors, two of which will be newly created posts.
“In preparation for a future where the news industry looks altogether different, we are increasingly making full use of multimedia, which allows us to interact more deeply with our readers and viewers,” said Cramer in a statement. “These newly created positions and operating structure are critical to the development of new projects that merge our expertise with the latest technology.”
Mike Stepanovich, senior vice president and global head of business development, will now also assume the duties of managing editor of Reuters financial video service and as such will have operational responsibility for both the platform and content.
John Clarke, global editor, television, and Tom Szlukovenyi, global editor, pictures, will continue in their roles leading these operations.
Senior editors for the newly created positions of global editor, online, and global editor, agency have not yet been named.
