Reuters names first members of Stocks Buzz team

Eric Burroughs, editor of Reuters (FX) Buzz, sent out the following staff announcement on Thursday:

I’m pleased to announce the first members of the new Reuters Stocks Buzz team in London and New York as we build up the short-form market analysis service to target equity analysts and portfolio managers, building on the success of FX Buzz.

Lance Tupper has joined as a analyst based in New York where he will focus on the US market. Lance, who has more than 20 years of experience in the equity capital markets, was last managing director of the RBC Capital Markets equity capital markets desk where he oversaw the marketing and execution of more than 600 US offerings including IPOs. Before RBC, Lance worked on the ECM desks at UBS and Citigroup.

In London, Tricia Wright and Alasdair Pal will join as correspondents to cover the European markets. Tricia has been an equities market reporter since joining Reuters from AFX in 2008 and had previously worked as a sub-editor at AFX. Alasdair Pal joins after having worked as a senior reporter on the asset management industry at Investment Week, which he joined September 2011 after studying theology at the University of Cambridge.

Lance, Tricia and Alasdair will all report to Stocks Buzz Editor Vikram Subhedar who has overseen the pilot and the launch of the product since 2013. In February, Vikram relocated to London from Hong Kong where he was the Asia Senior Stocks Correspondent since 2010 leading regional equity markets coverage. Vikram first joined Reuters in Bangalore in 2006 and was editor-in-charge of the headline news desk through the financial crisis and led our early efforts on automation.
