Reuters has named Timour Azhari as deputy bureau chief for Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, based in Beirut.
Azhari has been a reporter in Lebanon for the Thomson Reuters Foundation for the past nine months.
He previously was with Al Jazeera English as a correspondent in Beirut. And he also worked for the Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative as a newsletter writer and editor.
Azhari was also a reporter for The Daily Star for two years. He holds a bachelor’s degree from American University of Beirut.
