Reuters hires WSJ’s Moise to cover banking

Imani Moise

Reuters finance editor Lauren Tara LaCapra sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

Dear colleagues,

I’m thrilled to announce that Imani Moise will be joining the finance team in New York as a banking reporter covering Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Imani comes to us from the Wall Street Journal, where she has been a member of the breaking news team since 2016.

In addition to getting important stories out ASAP, Imani has developed a knack for finding hidden gems buried in a corporate press releases, and for writing plenty of eye-catching features. For instance, this A-Hed about a “beefalo” incursion in the Grand Canyon and this culture story about Bacardi’s Havana Club struggling to sell more rum.

Tar Heels supporters beware: As a Duke University graduate, Imani is a devoted fan of the Blue Devils. She also loves Beyoncé (but who doesn’t?)

Please join me in welcoming Imani to the team! Her first day in the office is May 29.
