Reuters hires new editor to run peHUB

Chris Witkowsky has been hired by Reuters to run its peHUB website.

He replaces Jonathan Marino who became senior editor at The Deal, part of TheStreet.com.

PeHUB was founded by Dan Primack, who went on to develop Term Sheet as a Fortune website. PeHUB is written by Thomson Reuters Deals Group journalists, who also report for Buyouts Magazine and Venture Capital Journal. It also posts stories on M&A, PE and venture capital written by Reuters journalists around the world.

Witkowsky is currently the editor of www.privateequityonline.com, a web site covering the private equity industry. In this role, Witkowsky writes, edits and helps guide the daily news selection for the site.

His last day at Private Equity is Aug. 23. He will start at peHUB on Aug. 26.

Witkowsky has 13 years of experience in journalism, including covering the federal bankruptcy court in Manhattan for Dow Jones. He holds an English degree from Penn State University and is a lifelong Nittany Lions fan.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
