Reuters hires Hirsch to cover IPOs, M&A

Greg Roumeliotis, editor in charge of mergers and acquisitions reporting at Reuters, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

I’m pleased to announce that Lauren Hirsch has joined Reuters as our new IPO and consumer/retail M&A reporter, based in New York.

Lauren will be breaking news and writing insightful stories on the biggest and most well known companies going public in the United States, as well as on M&A deals and companies in the consumer and retail sectors.

She joins us from Mergermarket, where she covered consumer/retail M&A and generated several scoops, first as a reporter and, more recently, as an editor. Originally from Rye, New York, Lauren attended Cornell University as a comparative literature major and later received her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

In her spare time, Lauren likes to play tennis, go to the theater and bike in Riverside Park.
