Reuters hires energy reporter from Houston Chronicle

Collin Eaton

Collin Eaton, an energy reporter for the Houston Chronicle, has been hired by Reuters to cover the same beat.

He is also based in Houston for Reuters.

Prior to joining the Chronicle, Eaton covered the local banking and finance scene at the Houston Business Journal. Before that, he held internships at the Dallas Morning News and the Chronicle of Higher Education, generally writing about business, money or higher education.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
