Amran Abocar, the Canada bureau chief for Reuters, sent out the following announcement:
I am pleased to announce Allison Lampert will be joining as Correspondent, Montreal. Allison has been working for Reuters as a stringer since July and distinguished herself with a number of exclusives, including on Airbus and post-MH17 coverage at the UN’s civil aviation body.
A native New Yorker, Allison has covered news and business for more than a decade at the Montreal Gazette newspaper. She has reported on Canadian real estate, transportation and was embedded with Canadian forces in Afghanistan in 2008. She has also written for several Canadian publications including the Financial Post, Maclean’s magazine, and the French-language tablet edition La Presse Plus. Allison has a degree in broadcast journalism and speaks fluent French, English and Spanish.
Allison will be part of the company news team with responsibility for Canadian pension funds as well as overall coverage of the province of Quebec. She starts in Montreal on April 6 and will report to me.
Please join me in welcoming Allison to her new role.
