TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Christian Plumb, the editor in New York who oversees finance, investment banking and mergers & acquisitions coverage for Reuters, plans to move to the wire service’s Paris bureau later this year.

Plumb has been the editor in charge of finance and M&A for the past four years. In Paris, he will be the editor in charge of equities coverage.

There is no word yet on his replacement here in the States.

Plumb joined Reuters in Milan in 2000 and moved to New York in 2005 as U.S. aerospace team leader.  Before Reuters, he spent eight years with Bloomberg, starting with pre-dawn Wall Street Journal press pickups and including a three-year posting to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Plumb has a passion for foreign cultures that led him to volunteer as a health worker deep in the countryside of Paraguay, Mexico and the Dominican Republic during college and to learn both Portuguese and Italian from scratch before his assignments in Brazil and Italy.

Plumb is a Cornell University graduate.
