Reuters Breakingviews makes three new hires

Reuters Breakingviews, a commentary service within Reuters, has hired three new staffers.

They are:

Lauren Silva Laughlin has rejoined Reuters Breakingviews as a columnist based in Dallas, covering the energy sector and a variety of corporate-finance-related matters. She had previously worked for Breakingviews in New York and left in 2010.

Since then, she has written for Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, the Dallas Morning News and other publications. Most recently, she was working for a boutique investment bank.

Tom Buerkle recently started as an associate editor in New York, focusing on hedge funds and large asset managers. Most recently, Buerkle was the international editor for Institutional Investor, a role he held for a little over a decade.

Before that, he was based in London as the magazine’s European editor and was a correspondent for the International Herald Tribune.

Reynolds Holding is now writing a regular column about corporate-related legal affairs. After four years as staff writer and legal editor, he left in 2016 to become a senior fellow and editor-at-large at Columbia Law School.

Holding previously worked at ABC News, Time magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle.
