Christine Chan, the Americas graphics editor at Reuters, sent the following goodbye message to her colleagues last week:
Dear friends,
It’s a surreal time to say goodbye but tomorrow will be my last day at Reuters.
Being a part of the Baron has truly been a dream come true — I can still remember how excited I felt when I received my offer letter 10 years ago! It has been an incredible journey since and I am very honored and fortunate to have had the opportunity to have worked alongside many of you. I will really miss this.
Just want to say a few special thank-yous before I go:
Thank you @Chua, Reginald (Reuters) @Wu, Tiffany (Reuters) @Durfee, Don (Reuters) for the opportunities and advice you all have given me over the years. I would not have had the career that I had without your support and kindness.
@Perkins, Corinne E. (Reuters) Thank you for being my shoulder to lean on. I have so much admiration for your tenacity, compassion and everything that you and your team does.
My teammates: @Levine, Ally (Reuters) @Canipe, Chris (Reuters) @Funakoshi, Minami (Reuters) @Hart, Samuel @hartman, travis (Reuters) @Foo, Hwei Wen (Reuters) — You all make me look forward to coming to work every day and I could not have asked for a better team! Thank you for rising so gracefully to every challenge that I throw your way and being my sunshine on those cloudy days.
And lastly, my boss and mentor: @Weber, Matthew (Reuters) — Thank you for trusting me with both the small and the big things, and keeping me sane during the difficult times. I am a better journalist, a more effective manager and a more patient human because of you.
I know many of you are either signing off after a long night or just waking up for your next shift to cover this nail-biting election, please take good care and stay safe during this incredibly challenging time. I will continue to marvel at the amazing work that you all do from afar and I wish each and every one of you every success. Do keep in touch!
