Rest of World hires Yi-Ling Liu to be China editor

Yi-Ling Liu

Rest of World, the global nonprofit publication covering the impact of technology beyond the Western bubble, has hired Yi-Ling Liu to join as the new China Editor.

Yi-Ling has been a columnist for Rest of World whose pieces have highlighted the way technology is reshaping the lives of people in China, providing insight into the online world inside the Great Firewall that most of us can’t see.

Yi-Ling is a recipient of the Matthew Power Literary Reporting Award and the Overseas Press Club Foundation Fellowship.

Her writing has also appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Foreign Policy, The New Yorker, and more. She’s currently finishing a narrative non-fiction book about the Chinese internet.
