Brigid Sweeney, who covered food, beverage and consumer culture for Crain’s Chicago Business, has left the publication.
Her last day was Tuesday.
“It has been a remarkable privilege to work here for eight and a half years,” wrote Sweeney on Twitter. “I will always be grateful to my wonderful colleagues and to the many sources and experts who have made my stories better.”
Sweeney is joining the public affairs team at Advocate Aurora, the country’s 10th-largest non-profit health care system. She starts hew new job next week.
Since joining Crain’s Chicago in 2010, she’s also covered retail and, for a short stint, health care. Previously, she was a staff writer and associate editor at Boston magazine, and a freelance writer for national magazines.
Sweeney is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
