Report on Business Magazine, published by The Toronto Globe and Mail, won three gold and two silver awards at the 37th annual National Magazine Awards in Canada.
A story on its website states, “The gold medal in magazine covers went to Report on Business art director Domenic Macri for a cover featuring Larry Fink, head of the investment firm BlackRock Inc., pointing at himself.
“It was Mr. Macri’s third gold for Magazine Covers – the most in the history of the award in that category.
“‘Domenic is always pushing the boundaries on what a business magazine cover should be,’ said Gary Salewicz, the magazine’s editor. ‘Because of that, we end up with a surprise for readers every month.’
“Anya Chibis also won gold in Portrait Photography for her work on the same cover featuring Mr. Fink. Charles Wilkins won gold in Business for his ROB Magazine story, ‘This little piggy went to market … and the farmer lost money,’ chronicling the woes of Manitoba’s pig industry.
“Eric Reguly, The Globe’s European bureau chief, won silver in Politics and Public Interest for ‘The smartest guys on the planet,’ an article nominated in three separate categories.”
