Report and write with the fishes

IntraFish Media, the world’s leading provider of news and intelligence to the global seafood industry, is seeking a talented and driven online business reporter.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter motivated by delivering top-notch b-2-b news to a highly demanding audience.

We’ve earned a pole position in our sector news with relentless and fast-paced business reporting, superior knowledge of our subject matter, a vast source network and objective, balanced coverage.

The right candidate will need a successful track record of 3-5 years reporting for a business-focused publication or Web site, a proven history of developing a source network, and a solid background in financial reporting.

This is a position with excellent growth potential. The Online Reporter will have the opportunity to grow and advance, and will be a key part of our company’s exciting digital strategy going forward. Written fluency in English is a must; any other languages are a plus. Position offers competitive pay and excellent benefits.

IntraFish Media is a subsidiary of Oslo-based NHST Media Group, which has offices and publications around the world. In addition to our headquarters in Bergen, Norway, IntraFish has offices in London, New York, Seattle and Singapore. The online reporter position will be based in our Seattle office.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
