Reload your skills at SABEW's annual conference

The Society of American Business Editors and Writers will hold its annual conference in Denver on April 26 through April 28, and the program has a number of skills sessions for business journalists to help them advance their careers.

Those sessions include:

  • “The Power of Twitter and other Social Networking” sites to help build your source network and break stories, with CUNY Digital Media professor Sandeep Junnakar;
  • “Creating a Podcast” with CNET managing editor Tom Merritt, co-host of the CNET technology podcast “Buzz Out Loud”;
  • “Good Writing Still Shines Online” with University of Missouri professor and renowned writing coach Jacqui Banaszynski;
  • “An Introduction to Flash Online Design Software” with Christine Birch, features design editor of the Rocky Mountain News;
  • “Organizing Your Technology Using RSS Feeds and Other Time Savers” with Denver Post managing editor digital media Mark Cardwell;
  • “Write Fast for Online” like the wire services by taking the Breaking News drill that Thomson Reuters training manager Greg McCune delivers to Reuters reporters;
  • “Interviewing Like an FBI agent,” one of the most popular sessions ever at SABEW, brings in FBI agents to tell you how they elicit information without waterboarding.
